What is Tea Ceremony

The tea ceremony is the act of making and serving powdered green tea to guests in accordance with traditional etiquette.

It is not just about enjoying tea, but also about the garden, the tea room and other spaces, the tea utensils and other crafts, and the Zen spirit, all traditional and artistic elements necessary to entertain guests.

Sen no Rikyu

Sen no Rikyu, who is still respected as the founder of the tea ceremony, is called the "tea saint" and established a style of tea called "wabicha," which is minimalist (minimalist) and eliminates waste to the utmost limit.

Rikyu defined the essence of the tea ceremony as "hospitality" for guests in a quiet room without luxury, viewing people as part of nature in order to enjoy the beautiful seasons of Japan.
